Overview

The Voronezh Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia is a federal state institution of higher education in Voronezh, Russia, that trains officer personnel for Russia’s internal affairs bodies. It was founded on 29 January 1979 as a special secondary police school of the USSR Ministry of Internal Affairs, admitting its first 190 cadets on 1 October 1979.

In July 1992 the school was upgraded to higher-education status as the Voronezh Higher School of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and in 1999, after state accreditation, it was reorganized into an institute.
