History
The institution was founded in 1951 and developed as a center for architecture, construction and civil engineering education.
The institution’s own history treats 1952, when teaching began, as the start of the university; the organizing order was issued in December 1951.
Current Status
In 2016 the university was merged with Volgograd State Technical University. Its academic continuation operates within the successor university’s Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering.

Its historical programs covered architecture, civil engineering, construction technologies, urban infrastructure, transport and related technical fields.
