Overview

University of Africa, Toru-Orua is a public university located in Toru-Orua, Bayelsa State, Nigeria (not Uganda, as the record previously stated). It was established in 2016 under the Bayelsa State University Law, during the administration of Governor Seriake Dickson, and admitted its first undergraduate students in 2017. Its first Vice-Chancellor was Prof. Valentine A. Aletor, a scholar of Agricultural Biochemistry and Nutrition, who served from 2016 to 2019.

It is one of Nigeria’s youngest public universities.
