Overview

Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) is a major technical university in Tomsk, Russia. History

TPU was founded in 1896 as the Tomsk Technological Institute of Practical Engineers of Emperor Nicholas II. It was the first engineering higher-education institution in the Asian part of the Russian Empire and developed into a multidisciplinary technical university with a strong emphasis on engineering, applied science and research.
