Shepherd University California was a private university established in Los Angeles, California, USA, in August 1999 by Dr. Richard Cornel Rhee. It is a distinct institution from the public Shepherd University in Shepherdstown, West Virginia (founded 1871). Shepherd University California was accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools and comprised five schools: the School of Digital Arts, the Cornel School of Contemporary Music, the School of Nursing, the School of Theology, and an ESL department for international students.

The university filed for bankruptcy and closed in 2017.
