Overview
Russian State Distance Education University of Agriculture (Russian: Российский государственный аграрный заочный университет, RGAZU) is a state university based in Balashikha, Moscow Oblast, Russia, specializing in distance and correspondence agricultural education. It traces its origin to 24 June 1930, when the All-Union Agricultural Correspondence Institute was established; correspondence agricultural departments across the USSR were consolidated into it in 1941 (as VIZO, later VSKhIZO).
In 1995 the institution was renamed the Russian State Agrarian Correspondence University (RGAZU) under a Russian Government decree, the name it holds today.
