Overview

Pyatigorsk Medical and Pharmaceutical Institute (PMPI) is a branch of Volgograd State Medical University in Pyatigorsk, Russia. It is the current successor to the former Pyatigorsk State Pharmaceutical Academy.

History

The institution was organized in 1943. It received academy status in 1994 and was reorganized as the Pyatigorsk Medical and Pharmaceutical Institute, a branch of Volgograd State Medical University, in 2012.

The institute itself dates its establishment to 1943; the older 1936 date is not used as the institution’s official founding year.

Programs

Current education includes pharmacy, general medicine, dentistry, medical biochemistry, special education, management, residency and postgraduate training, together with pre-university preparation.
