Overview

Pskov Free Institute (Russian: Псковский Π’ΠΎΠ»ΡŒΠ½Ρ‹ΠΉ институт, originally Pskov Free University) is a non-state institution of higher education in Pskov, Russia, founded in 1992 as a civic initiative of the city’s residents. Its founders included the Pskov city administration, the city education department, the Pskov State Pedagogical Institute, the Pskov Regional Institute for Advanced Teacher Training, the Pskov Regional Universal Research Library, and a number of local enterprises and organizations.

In 2000 the institute received state accreditation and the right to issue state-standard higher education diplomas.
