Overview
Orenburg State University (OSU) is a public university in Orenburg and one of the region’s principal higher-education institutions. It provides programs across engineering, natural sciences, information technology, economics and management, law, social sciences, humanities and languages.
History
The university traces its history to 1955, when an evening division of the Kuibyshev Industrial Institute was opened in Orenburg. It later developed through the Orenburg branch, Orenburg Polytechnic Institute and Orenburg State Technical University. The institution received the Orenburg State University name in 1996.
