Los Angeles City College is a public community college based in Los Angeles, California, United States. The college opened on September 9, 1929 as Los Angeles Junior College and adopted the Los Angeles City College name in 1938.

LACC remains an active public two-year college. The founding chronology is preserved instead of treating the later rename as the institution’s origin.
