Overview

Gzhel State University is a federal state higher-education institution in Moscow Oblast, Russia, founded in 1899 as a branch of the Stroganov Art and Industrial College, established at the Gzhel ceramics-making center.

The institution trains and retrains specialists in art as well as several socio-economic fields (pedagogy, economics and management, social-cultural activity and tourism, law). By order of the Government of the Russian Federation dated April 29, 2015, the institute was renamed Gzhel State University.
