Overview
Faculdade do Baixo Parnaíba (FAP) is a private higher education institution in Chapadinha, Maranhão, Brazil, maintained by the Centro Regional de Ensino Superior Arno Kreutz (CRESU). It originated as the Instituto Superior das Ciências da Educação do Baixo Parnaíba (ISCDE), authorized by Ministerial Order No. 196 of 19 January 2005, and was accredited under its current name by Ministerial Order No. 366/2007.
It arose from a local effort by residents of the Baixo Parnaíba region — especially Chapadinha — to provide professional training to students who could not afford to study in major urban centers. It now offers programs in Administration, Accounting, Law, Nursing, Sports and Leisure Management, Letters, Pedagogy and Social Services.
