Overview
Cesmac University Centre (Centro Universitário Cesmac) is a private higher education institution in Maceió, Alagoas, Brazil, part of the Fundação Educacional Jayme de Altavila (FEJAL) founded in 1971 by Father Teófanes Augusto de Araújo Barros. A decree-law authorizing what became CESMAC was signed in 1973 under the name Centro de Estudos Superiores de Maceió, holding its first entrance exam in 1975 with 9 courses and 450 places. It acquired its current university-center title and status in 2012.
CESMAC now operates campuses in Maceió, Arapiraca, Palmeira dos Índios and Marechal Deodoro.
