The university traced its history to 1909 and became one of the principal higher-education institutions in Bashkortostan.

Current Status
Bashkir State University merged with Ufa State Aviation Technical University in 2022 to create Ufa University of Science and Technology (UUST). It is therefore a legacy institution rather than a separate current admissions destination.
