Overview
Adeyemi College of Education is a teacher-training institution in Ondo, Ondo State, Nigeria, established in 1963 and formally commencing operations on 22 May 1964 with 93 students. It was named after Canon M. C. Adeyemi, an early educationist in Yorubaland, in recognition of his contribution to education in the then Ondo Province.
The institution grew into one of Nigeria’s leading colleges of education and, in 2021, was upgraded to full university status as Adeyemi Federal University of Education, now comprising five schools — Arts and Social Sciences, Education, Languages, Sciences, and Vocational and Technical Education — across 28 academic departments.
