Overview
Van Yüzüncü Yil University ( YYU ) – public higher education institution in Turkey. YYU became active in 1982. The campus of the university is well known in Van where it is located. Van Yüzüncü Yil University is often found in the rankings of top Turkey’s 90.
Admissions and study format
The applicants must pass examinations as a part of the admission process. It is not that difficult to get accepted to the university as the competition is fairly mild – 90 seats per 100 applicants. Like in many universities of Turkey the academic year consists of two semesters.
Students and academic staff
Van Yüzüncü Yil University is average in terms of student capacity, teaching the maximum of 20 thousand students. More than 1500 teachers are employed by the university. The students may participate in various student exchange programs.
Infrastructure
There is a library on the campus. It is one of the members of European University Association (EUA), and Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World (FUIW).
