University of the Ryukyus or 琉球大学 – public higher education institution in Japan. University of the Ryukyusstarted accepting students in 1950. The main building is in Okinawa.
Admissions and study format
The main criterion for admission is examination results. The competition is quite mild with a ratio of 1 to 3. University of the Ryukyus is among the universities that divides the academic schedule into semesters.
Students and academic staff
The university accepts both local and foreign students. During studies the students have the opportunity to participate in the international exchange programs.
Infrastructure
The university has its own library. Furthermore, University of the Ryukyus attracts students with its sports facilities and infrastructure. The university is a member of Association of Southeast Asian Institutions of Higher Learning (ASAIHL).
