Overview
University of Quintana Roo ( UQRoo ) – public higher education institution in Mexico. UQRoo became active in 1991. The university campus is of urban type and is located in the vicinity of Chetumal.
Admissions and study format
In addition to the results of the examinations the applicant must submit a certificate of the previous academic performance. Throughout the admission period more than 70 percent of applicants successfully enroll to the university. Nevertheless, in UQRoo the ratio may vary dramatically depending on the study program.
Students and academic staff
University of Quintana Roo can be classified as small with only 4000 students. The university accepts both local and foreign students. About 299 teachers and professors are employed by UQRoo. Both students and the academic staff can participate in the university’s international exchange programs.
Infrastructure
The university has its own library. It is one of the members of Asociación Nacional de Universidades e Instituciones de Educación Superior (ANUIES), and Consorcio de Universidades Mexicanas (CUMEX).
