Overview
University of Piteşti ( UPIT ) – public higher education institution in Romania. UPIT became active in 1962. University of Piteşti has an urban campus in Pitesti.
Admissions and study format
The certificate of prior academic performance along with exam results is required for submission by the admission committee. Throughout the admission period more than 80 percent of applicants successfully enroll to the university. Nevertheless, in UPIT the ratio may vary dramatically depending on the study program. Traditionally the academic year is divided into semesters like in many other universities of Romania. Here you can choose from a wide array of full-time programs, however the students are not limited to them as the university also offers online courses and programs.

University of Piteşti is average in size with a capacity of 20 thousand students. The admission committee accepts the applications from foreign citizens. About 799 teachers and professors are employed by UPIT. Student exchange programs is one of the draws of the university.
Infrastructure
The library is available to all of the students. The campus dormitories that can be offered to the students upon request. It is worth noting that in addition to being a part of the European University Association (EUA), the university also has a membership in the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) and Danube Rectors' Conference (DRC).
