The admission committee requests both examination results and the document on previous academic performance. Throughout the admission period more than 80 percent of applicants successfully enroll to the university. Nevertheless, in HITS the ratio may vary dramatically depending on the study program. Like in many universities of India the academic year consists of two semesters. Despite the fact that the university is privately funded, students still have the opportunity to apply for scholarships.

Being a medium scale university, Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science teaches more than 5 thousand students. Both citizens and foreigners are able to apply.
