Armed Forces Universidad (ESPE) – public higher education institution in Ecuador. The history of ESPE can be traced back to1922. The main facilities of Armed Forces Universidad are located outside of Sangolqui.
Application process
The students must pass examinations in order to get admitted to the university. The process of admission is not complicated by student competition as there are only 2 applicants per seat. Like in many universities of Ecuador the academic year consists of two semesters. Despite the tuition gees being quite low, the students often participate in scholarship programs. The composition of the university
Armed Forces Universidad is considered to be a large university, teaching more than 34,000 students. Foreign citizens can submit their applications along with the local students. More than 1500 teachers are employed by the university. The university participates in a variety of international exchange programs between students and academic staff.

There is a library on the campus. The students can live on campus if the apply for a dormitory room. It is one of the members of Asociación Iberoamericana de Instituciones de la Enseñanza de la Ingeniería (ASIBEI), and Asociación ecuatoriana de instituciones de enseñanza de ingeniería (ASECEI).
