The Autonomous University of Madrid has approximately 28,000 students and is one of the main universities in the capital city. The University has two campus; the prestigious Faculty of Medicine, situated close to Madrid´s La Paz Hospital, and the Cantoblanco Campus, which is situated 15 km to the north of Madrid, near Alcobendas, San Sebastián de los Reyes, Tres Cantos and Colmenar Viejo. With about 30.000 students, more than 2.500 professors and researchers and a staff of more than 1.000, the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM) offers a comprehensive range of studies in its eight faculties.
