National Chengchi University ( NCCU ) — public higher education institution in Taiwan. NCCU began its activity in 1927. Thanks to its quite favourable location inside Taipei, students can enjoy an active city life with a rural serenity.
The composition of the university.
National Chengchi University is average in terms of student capacity, teaching the maximum of 15 thousand students. Foreign citizens can also apply to the university. 7% of all students are foreigners. The academic staff consists of 941 specialists. The students may participate in various student exchange programs.

The university has its own library. It is a member of Taiwan University System (TUS), as well as OpenCourseWare Consortium (OCW).

National Chengchi University (NCCU) was founded in 1927 and was re-established in Taiwan in 1954.Over the past 8 decades through re-formulation and development, we have been upholding our motto, â??harmony, independence, balance and preeminenceâ?, and have continued to refine our teaching methods and research in order to nurture talent for our country and society. We currently have 9 colleges excelling in the liberal arts, law, commerce, science, foreign languages, social sciences, communication, international affairs and education, comprised of 33 departments, 2 undergraduate program and 52 graduate institutes (MA programs), 35 of the graduate institutes offer doctoral programs. In addition, in acting upon the policy of implementing our back-flow education, we have founded 16 on-the-job MA programs, including 4 degree-based International Programs (International Doctorâ??s Program on Asian-Pacific Studies, International MBA, International Masterâ??s Program in International Communication Studies, and International Masterâ??s Program in Asian-Pacific Studies). The university is operated with 6 administrations : Secretariat, Office of Academic Affairs, Office of Student Affairs, Office of General Affairs, Office of Research and Development, and Office of International Cooperation and 3 offices: Physical Education Office, Accounting Office, and Pesonnel Office. Since its founding in 1927, National Chengchi University (NCCU) has earned a reputation as an institution of higher education celebrated for its studies in the humanities, social sciences, and management/administration sciences. Although it has changed its name and constitution twice in its relatively brief history, the goals and ideals of the university have always remained steadfast: the search for truth, the commitment to academic research, the cultivation of future generations of leaders, and the ability to recognize and respond to changes shaping society and academia. The history of the university finds its roots in the central government’s 1927 founding of the Central Party Affairs School, presided over by then President Chiang Kai-shek in China. The victory of the Northward Expedition in 1929 was accompanied by a name change to the Central Political School. A further progression, the integration of the Central Political School with the Central Cadre School, was an immediate prelude to the full founding of National Chengchi University, which followed shortly upon the 1946 conclusion of the Sino-Japanese War. The operations of the university were temporarily halted with the loss of Nationalist control in the Chinese mainland in 1949, not to resume again until 1954 when the university…
