University of Technology MARA or Universiti Teknologi MARA ( UiTM ) — public higher education institution in Malaysia. UiTM opened its doors in 1956. The university has an urban campus in Klang.

MARA University of Technology is among the largest universities that educates more then 51 thousand students. The admission committee accepts the applications from foreign citizens. More than 3 thousand teachers are employed by the university. The university provides its students with the opportunity to participate in the international exchange programs. UiTM started offering postgraduate degree in 1999. Since then the number of post graduate programme has increased to 60 where each can be categorized into three nexus: Science & Technology, Business &Management and Social Sciences & Humanities. There are a mixture of research, course work and mixed mode programmes. We see an average addition of 1000 students per year in the last 5 years with a steady increase in PhD students. A total of 2,177 students graduated from both masters and PhD programmes in 2013. The increase aligns with the increase in research grants, publication and also citations.
Bachelor — MARA University of Technology
UiTM started offering degree and post graduate programmes since 1999. UiTM is governed by its own statute with components comprise of Board of Directors, Senate, Executive Committee and followed by its management. Its budget for development and operation are channeled from the Government. Fund supporting research and innovations come from both government and industries. The number of programme has increased to 138 where each can be categorized into three nexus: Science & Technology, Business & Management and Social Sciences & Humanities. 250,000 bachelors’ graduate has so far contributed to the total 11 million labor force of the nation. Since introduction, all programmes had been reviewed three times to meet Malaysia Qualification Accreditation (MQA) requirement. In addition, a number of degree programmes (Engineering, Medical Health Sciences and Built Environment) are accredited by local and international professional bodies where its average valid duration spans for 5 years.
