Bogor Agricultural University ( IPB ) — public higher education institution in Indonesia. The studies at Bogor Agricultural University began in 1963. The main building of the university is located in Bogor inside an urban campus.

Bogor Agricultural University is among the largest universities that educates more then 21 thousand students. Foreign applicants are not excluded from the admission process. The education is provided by more than 1200 teachers and professors. The university is an active participant of international programs aimed at academic exchange of students between the educational institutions. IPB’s Graduate Programs are well known as: 1. Southeast Asia?s Most Comprehensive Agricultural Study Program: IPB offers 69 major in plant, animal, forestry, fisheries, agricultural sciences, social and basic sciences. 2. Largest and Finest Quality Research Institution: IPB’s graduate school is supported by a number of laboratory facilities and competitive research grants, local (Center Grant, the Graduate Team Research Grant, Competitive Integrated Research, the Competitive Grant) and various research grants from foreign universities and institutions. I3. Foremost Academic Lecturers: 966 lecturers support the graduate program of the total number nine hundred and twenty one (95.3%) are full-time IPB lecturers while the rest are visiting lecturers. Six hundred and seventy nine (70.3%) full-time lecturers hold Doctorate degrees from leading institutions in the United States, Europe, Japan, Australia, while the remaining 287 lecturers have Master degrees. 4. Extensive Cooperation with International Universities and Institution: In advancing the graduate school, IPB has from the very start been keen to develop and maintain cooperation with foreign universities and institutions. These include the University of Wisconsin, University of Tokyo, University of Adelaide, University of Gottingen, SEARCA Agricultural University Consortium, JICA, JSPS, USAID, OECF, World Bank, IUC and URGE. The Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB) or Bogor Agricultural University, which was established in 1963, is the only state university focusing on tropical agriculture and life sciences in a broad sense. IPB is located about 60 kilometers from the capital city of Jakarta. Internationally IPB is well recognized. It has been in a long standing cooperation with foreign universities and related institutions. International partnerships involve student/ academic staff exchange, research collaboration, joint publication, and dual degree programs. Given excellent facilities and qualified human resources, IPB is capable of offering various innovative programs in education and research suited to the national as well as international development. The educational programs include vocational (Diploma), undergraduate (Strata 1), and postgraduate (Master and Doctoral) programs.
